AGV is a type of autonomous vehicle that is self driven and equipped with non-contact guidance devices. Its main function is to enable the car to travel and stop at designated locations with precision according to path planning and job requirements under computer monitoring, completing a series of job functions.

AGV is characterized by wheeled movement and has advantages such as speed, high efficiency, simple structure, strong controllability, and good safety compared to walking, crawling, or other non wheeled mobile robots. It can be well coordinated with commonly used stacker cranes, monorail carts, conveyor belts, conveyor chains, and conveyor rollers in material transportation.

The activity area of AGV does not require the installation of fixed devices such as tracks and support frames, and is not limited by the site, roads, and space. Traction type AGV, after arriving at the designated location, manually hangs the material truck on the traction hook (which can be automatically attached). The AGV reads landmark instructions through magnetic strip guidance, pulls the material truck to the designated location, and automatically unloads it. Multiple material trucks can be towed at once, and this vehicle has a multi station selection function. Widely used for material and finished product handling in industries such as automobiles and home appliances.
